Abstract Plant cell and organ cultures are potential sources of valuable secondary metabolites that can be used as food additives, nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals, pharmaceuticals. Phytochemical biosynthesis in various vitro plant cultures, contrast to planta, is independent environmental conditions free from quality fluctuations. Pharmaceutical application biotechnology interest almost all departments the Faculty Pharmacy Institute Pharmacology Poland with a botanical profile (Pharmaceutical Botany, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology). This study discusses advances for production known and/or novel compounds several scientific centers Poland.
